Can an employer force an employee to use FMLA?

Yes, unfortunately, your employer can force you to use FMLA leave. There is no law that prohibits an employer from doing so. However, you must meet the requirements. In other words, an employer can't force you to use FMLA leave when you don't actually meet the requirements to use FMLA.

Do you get paid for FMLA?

Although the FMLA requires only that employers make leave available to qualifying employees on an unpaid basis, in some instances employees may be able to get paid while on leave.
